Susan Cadell is a Professor and Director of the School of Social Work at Renison University College, University of Waterloo, and an Associate Professor and Director of the Manulife Centre for Healthy Living in the Lyle S. Hallman Faculty of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario.  She is a member of several multidisciplinary research teams in pediatric palliative care.
 

Robin Cohen is the Research Director and Associate Professor in the Division of Palliative Care in the Departments of Oncology and Medicine at McGill University, and a Project Director at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal. Her research focuses on understanding, measuring, and developing ways to optimize the quality of life of life of people with life-threatening illnesses and that of their family caregivers. She loves her work because it allows her to study the physical, psychological, social, and existential/spiritual contributors to quality of life.

Rose De Angelis is the Nursing/Assistant Executive Director of The West Island Palliative Care Residence. She educates and sensitizes the community to better understand what palliative care is. She was the recipient of the 2009 CHPCA Award of Excellence and in 2012, the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal. Rose received her Masters in Nursing from McGill University where she is adjunct faculty at the School of Nursing. An avid reader, gardener and traveler, Rose revels in the challenges of raising 4 sons. She enjoys working with an amazing group of nurses, terminally ill patients and their families. 

Dr. Ingrid de Kock joined the Edmonton Zone Palliative Care Program in July 2000 as Palliative Care Physician, working in the community. Prior to this she was working in several provinces/territories as rural GP surgeon/anesthetist.

Karen went into nursing to work in palliative care. Her clinical experience is in palliative care as a community visiting nurse and in oncology as the Director of Nursing at CancerCare Manitoba and the Director of the WRHA Breast Health Centre.

Dr. Michael Gordon, born in New York, attended medical school at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. After graduation in 1966 he pursued post-graduate training in many countries, settling in Toronto Canada in 1973.

Heather Jewers is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at St. Francis Xavier University. She is a former palliative care consultant for the Guysborough, Antigonish, Strait Health Authority district with experience in clinical care, program, and policy development, and palliative care education.

Peter is a Palliative Care Specialist and was Clinical Director at Waikato Hospital, Hamilton, New Zealand until April this year. He is married to Ingrid with two children and four grandchildren. From 1984-2001 he worked  in  academic Family Medicine, University of Manitoba at St Boniface General Hospital ,Winnipeg where he was  Professor and Head  from 1991-2001. In 2002, he was Director of Research for Vancouver Island Health Authority and Medical Director for Palliative/EOL care in British Columbia.  His research interests are in communication in palliative care. He was principal investigator for a NET CIHR 5year award in Palliative Care. He is also a Clinical Professor at the University of British Columbia and University of Victoria.
 

Stephen Liben MD is an associate professor of Pediatrics in the Faculty of Medicine of McGill University and medical director of The Montreal Children’s Hospital Pediatric Palliative Care Program. His academic and personal interests are by no coincidence shared: How to cultivate well-being even (and perhaps especially) in the face of life’s challenges that includes sickness aging and death.

Chris is a psychologist and Director of Training at Psychologie Mont Royal, a private clinic located in Montreal. In this role he sees individuals, couples, and families while overseeing the internship and apprenticeship programs of the practice. Prior to this position, he worked as a palliative care psychologist for almost 10 years at the McGill University Health Center.

Laurie Anne has been with palliative care in Newfoundland and Labrador since the 1970’s. She completed initial palliative care training at the Royal Victoria Hospital Palliative Care program in Montreal in 1978 and came back to help the Sisters of Mercy at St Clare’s open and lead the first Palliative Care Unit and team east of Montreal in St John’s, Newfoundland in 1979.  Laurie Anne has continued on in her palliative care career through working in various roles and is well known as a leader and educator provincially, nationally and internationally.

Dr. Giulia-Anna Perri is a Palliative Care Physician and Consultant at Baycrest Hospital. Her practice is focused on geriatric palliative care and she currently is a Clinician-Educator with a varied undergraduate and post-graduate teaching practice, holding a Clinical Lecturer status in the Division of Palliative Care, Department of Family Medicine and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Harold (Hal) Siden is Medical Director of Canuck Place Children’s Hospice (www.canuckplace.org), As Medical Director at Canuck Place, he directs the physician team, research, education programs and the care of over 600 children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.

Dr. Stajduhar has worked in oncology, palliative care, and gerontology for over 20 years as a clinician, clinical nurse specialist, educator, and researcher. She is  an Associate Professor, School of Nursing and Centre on Aging, University of Victoria. Clinical work and research has focused on health service needs for those at the end-of-life and their families with a focus on home care and inpatient settings, and on the needs of marginalized and vulnerable populations. Dr. Stajduhar is a CIHR New Investigator and a Research Scholar, Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research.
 

Wendy Wainwright, M Ed, is the former Manager of Psychosocial Services, Victoria Hospice Society and has worked in hospice palliative care (hpc) for over 25 years.  Wendy co-authored Transitions in Dying & Bereavement:  A Psychosocial guide for Hospice and Palliative Care, and co-edited Medical Care of the Dying, along with articles on Social Work competencies & roles in hpc.  She has a long history in professional education, including the development of a course on Psychosocial Care of the Dying and Bereaved.  Wendy is currently the president of the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association.

Keith Wilson is a clinical psychologist at The Ottawa Hospital Rehabilitation Centre. Dr. Wilson also maintains an active research program, with particular interests in the psychosocial and functional aspects of chronic illness and disability, and issues in end-of-life care. Academically, Dr. Wilson is an associate professor in the Department of Medicine and School of Psychology at the University of Ottawa, and an Associate Scientist with the Clinical Epidemiology Program of the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute.
