Accessing Medical Cannabis

I have been dealing with anxiety and depression. I thought I might get some relief from weed. My doctor wasn't in favour of it. He's a sweet young man. Who knew?
I went to a naturopath who suggested Medical Marijuana (MM). She sent me to [company name removed by moderator], who sets it all up. They hook you up with a physician, by videoconference. All I needed was a paper from my GP, stating I have depression. Their office simply printed it for me.
I'm getting some relief from symptoms.

Hi JennJilks

Congratulations!  You've made an excellent decision about trying medical marijuana for your anxiety and depression.  While everyone's experience of this is different, I am happy to share mine with you.

A new psychiatrist helped wean me off a lethal (for me) cocktail of antidepressant/antianxiolitic medications about 18 months ago.  I started, and have stayed with, micro-doses of CBD tincture, which have increased, very slightly, over that time.  The most I have ever taken, at any one time, is just under half a dropper-full.  This is still considered to be a small dose.  I take it as and when  I need it  - by day or night.  Some days, it may be once, others three or four times.  This CANNOT be dispensed at regular intervals like regular medications.  It is highly idiosyncratic, which is maybe why some doctors, like yours, find prescribing it problematic.

Since starting this, my lifelong depression (which was diagnosed as "treatment-resistant") is 90% under control.  The anxiety, which is largely situational, lingers on but is kept well under control with the CBD, which also relieves the severe neuropathic pain  I suffer from.  A real bonus!

I take only pure CBD, with virtually no THC in it, so there are absolutely no side effects.  It is completely non- hallucinogenic.  I did try the THC for sleep problems a couple of times , but really didn't like the affect it had on  me!  I do want to stress, again, that everyone's reaction to medical marijuana is different.  I am guided by the advice of my excellent psychiatrist, who also treats me with psychotherapy.  A combination  that is proving miraculous for me.  I can strongly recommend it, and hope you are fortunate enough to find equal help.

I have also found a great on-line resource that I turn to with questions:  it's a closed Face- book group you can join called cannabis oil success stories.  A treasure trove of
Information, coupled with a group of incredibly supportive and helpful people.

I do hope that I have answered at least some of your questions and wish you every success with this stage of your journey.  Please do get in touch if you have any further concerns.

Best,

oldbat

I like you approve cannabis treatment. My father has a serious cancer disease. He is in terrible pain. I gave him a bit of cannabis to make it a little easier... it helped for a while, but I had to send him to [website information removed by moderator] anyway. Experts will help him here ... Maybe, and you perhaps you should not neglect your health and consult a specialist

Hi JhonB

Yes, there’s definitely a lot of conversations happening about the legalization of marijuana in Canada. Sorry to hear about your father’s cancer. It’s wonderful that you are taking steps to assist him and hopefully the health providers you referred him to, can really help as well.

Alternative medicine are more accepted now a days due to it's promising results unlike pharmaceutical medicine, alternative medicine don't give negative effect such as kidney and liver problems when it comes to long term use. As for my alternative medicine usage, I use medical marijuana. Different strain has a variety of uses and effect depending on your needs. Visit this: [name of website removed by moderator]

I just received my state card a couple of weeks ago. Medical Marijuana is legal in my state. I am strictly going for pain relief. I am taking the CBD capsule at night. It's just like a regular pill. I didn't notice pain relief right away, but it did allow me to sleep the whole night. That is VERY rare for me. Now I sleep the whole night through. That alone is amazing. I also started using THC in patch form like the [website information removed by moderator ] I only use a quarter of the patch during the day. The consultants referred to it as "micro doses" which give slow and steady relief during the day. If I use half a patch, it really boosts my mood. I tried an edible once. I only had an eighth of a bar, but it was awful. It tasted like a dry handful of oregano wrapped in chocolate. I had horrible dreams and didn't like the way I felt. The low doses are bringing a steady relief. Combined with better sleep, it makes the morning easier.

Marijuana has been used as medicine among humans for millennia from treating cramping, earaches, malaria and everything in between, Marijuana has had a long- term influence on the medical world. While there may have been no scientific basis for using marijuana back then, research about the cannabis plants's medicinal properties has become more and more common....

With the recent medical marijuana [website link removed by moderator] movement, marijuana is finally getting exposure as a reliable alternative medicine. Though marijuana was made illegal in 1947, several movements pushed against the statutes, arguing the medical benefits of consumption. Marijuana was then placed on the controlled substances act of 1970.
The national Institute of cancer NCI has information about marijuana use to treat the side effects of cancer treatment available at: https://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/treatment/cam/patient/cannabis-pdq [statement modified by moderator and link added to the NCI information on marijuana].

Yes, Marijuana can be used as a medical dose for the patients but not in heavy one as you can read in details here [moderator removed link to for-profit website] but I would say having some knowledge can cure something that you are suffering from a very long time though and its not a drug but a relief.

Today, USA has authorized maryjane. It is presently OK to buy, have, or develop recreational cannabis in "The Great White North".

Starting now and into the foreseeable future, pot/weed/grass might be smoked, subject to guidelines like those forced on liquor utilization.

What an extraordinary nation!

Go along with us.
