Young cancer patient

A young man in his early 30s may be facing the end of his life.
His cousins are my nieces and nephew.
I want to support them but there seems little I can do.
Really, I just want to fix it. I want to spare them any more pain since their father died when they were young.
How can I best help them? They are in their 20s and have already lost a parent.

Hi there, first of all, if you want to support him then it is very important to give him mental support and cheer him up as much as you can. Mental support is the best support you can ever offer to someone who is suffering from any kind of disease.
Another thing is that you can do some research where he can get the best treatment to cure cancer. There are so many treatment options to cure cancer including surgery, chemotherapy, targetted therapy and radiation therapy etc. You can check with the hospitals and specialists for the best treatment options.

Hello MaryAllah and Iyana 271, I am new to your discussion thread - and I know some time has passed since you posted.

Your words, 'I just want to fix it' resonated with me. If only we had the power eh to make things better and change the life circumstances of the people we love.  I was just now thinking about how it somehow seems easier to face our own pain than to watch others in pain.

And support is so important as you say Iyana 271. So often you hear that people's support systems vanish when there is bad news. I don't think because people are bad but because we don't know what to do or say.

I am wondering how you are doing MaryAllah?

And so much in our world has changed since February. So much uncertainty.

Take care both of you.
